1. New Colors to Learn
Here are the colors. Say them with me slowly:
👉 Activity Tip: Show colored paper or crayons while saying each word. Kids love matching words to colors they can see.
2. Light and Dark Colors
We can also describe light and dark shades:
浅 (qiǎn) – Light / Pale
深 (shēn) – Dark / Deep
Examples:
浅蓝色 (qiǎn lán sè) – Light blue
深绿色 (shēn lǜ sè) – Dark green
3. Fun Sentences to Practice
这是粉色的花 (zhè shì fěn sè de huā) – This is a pink flower.
我喜欢金色的星星 (wǒ xǐ huān jīn sè de xīng xīng) – I like golden stars.
他的鞋是灰色的 (tā de xié shì huī sè de) – His shoes are gray.
4. Creative Activity – Mix and Match!
🎨 Color Mixing Game:
Mix paints to create new colors. Say the name of each new color in Mandarin.
Example: Mix 蓝色 (blue) and 黄色 (yellow) to make 绿色 (green).
Bonus idea for older kids: Create a color wheel and label it with Mandarin words.
